Fernández, who is also a Cuban Theatre Prize 2007 laureate, told Prensa Latina that groups from Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Croacia, Spain, England, Serbia, Japan, Nicaragua and Venezuela have confirmed their attendance. They will join 13 local groups.

The event, to be held in theatres, workplaces, schools and squares in the city of Matanzas, 62 miles east of Havana, will boast the presence of important figures of the puppet show, including French Alain Lecquoc, Italians Fabricio Montecchi and Nocoleta Garioni and Sweedish Eina Hagberg.

It will include seven exhibitions, launch of books and a special program for children.
