The cooling oil, is produced at the Sergio Soto refinery plant, located in the central province of Sancti Spiritus, according to a report in Trabajadores.
The product is obtained from the raw material resulting from the refinery process of the Cuban crude obtained from the Majagua and Varadero oilfields. It is later placed in hermetically sealed barrels, keeping it away from humidity that affects its quality.
Similar oil is quoted in the world market at more than 1,500 dollars a ton, while the Cuban plant can produce it at a cost of 400 convertible pesos and about 300 Cuban pesos, which is less than 500 dollars.
