One of the options is the Guanahacabibes peninsula, in Cuba's westernmost tip, which offers great natural attractions.
According to experts, there are possibilities to boost exchange between the Mexican beach resort of Cancun and the said Cuban region, which has excellent conditions for scuba diving and snorkeling.
The project is based on studies carried out in the Guanahacabibes peninsula for over three decades to boost sustainable development in the region.
Guanahacabibes offers the services of the Marina Cabo San Antonio and there are plans to enlarge the region's extrahotel infrastructure.
The studies show that the region offers 22 beaches and seven development areas where up to 2,000 hotels rooms could be built in a long term.
