More than 260 papers have been discussed in panels, commissions and plenary sessions with the main topics being the imminent economic crisis in the United States, Chinas spectacular economic growth, bio-fuels, and the impact of free trade agreements, among others.

Another important moment of the event was the presentation of the Honorary Chair of Studies on Globalization and Development of the University of Havana to promote international research integration in this field.

Also as part of the conference, prestigious economists, professors and experts have given lectures in ministries, universities, research centers and other institutions.

The fifth and last day of the event on Friday includes panels on cultural identity, public policies, energy and the environment, and the development of the energy revolution in Cuba, among others.
