Cuba is to sign Thursday at the United Nations headquarters the Civil and Political Rights Pact.
According to the publication, Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque is in New York to ink those accords.

Such signature is a sovereign act to formalize and reaffirm Cuba's commitment with postulates from both instruments, supported by their legal order and the Revolution's work for human rights, the daily states.

Perez Roque's agenda there also includes meeting with the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Coordination Bureau, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and that institution's General Assembly President Srgjan Kerim.

Later, the Cuban diplomatic head will travel to Geneva to participate in the Top Level Segment of the Seventh Ordinary Session of the Human Rights Council, where Cuba attends as a founding country.

Also on the list is to meet with NAM nations' representatives in that headquarters and the UN's top authorities.
