According to Granma news daily, this visit will contribute to the strengthening of frienship and cooperation ties between the two countries, particularly in the field of health care.
Today, there are 185 Cuban doctors and nurses working in Ghana. Likewise, 1,183 youths from this African nation have graduated from Cuban education centers, including 639 with higher education level.
Currently, there are 35 Ghanaian youths enjoying scholarships in Cuba incluing 14 who study medicine.
During his visit to the island, the African leader will hold official talks with Vice President Esteban Lazo and will meet other high-ranking officials. He will also visit places of historic, economic and scientific interest.
