Assistant Basic Industry Minister Juan Manuel Presa told TV News Tuesday of two strategies implemented in this sector: 100 stations to measure wind at the necessary height and an aeolian park of 1.65 megawatts in the Isle of Youth.
The latter installation has saved 260 tons of fuel oil, at current prices representing 90,000 dollars for the nation"s economy, Presa added.
The use of aeolian energy is significantly increasing in the world, where 30,000 aero generators work as an alternative to the international energy crisis, Cuban Television reported.
This type of energy does not pollute the environment, restrains exhaustion of fossil fuels, and contributes to avoid additional climate change.
