The distinguished visitor is accompanied by a delegation comprised of Carlos Meanny Valerio, minister of energy and mines; Jerónimo Lancerio, minister of culture and sports; Juan Aguilar, chief of the Presidential Secretariat on Food and Nutrition Security; Estuardo Gálvez, rector of the University of San Carlos, and Jesús Oliva, dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

This visit is an expression of the desire on the part of Cuba and the Guatemalan government to develop and deepen bilateral relations, as well as their existing ties of cooperation.

During his stay in our country, Vice President Espada will hold official talks with Carlos Lage Dávila, secretary of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers, meet with other Cuban authorities and visit places of scientific and social interest.
