Control of fuel in the Havana and City of Havana provinces, Lage said the saving of tons of fuel is necessary.
During the ceremony to accredit 265 supervisors of consumption and control of fuel in the Havana and City of Havana provinces, Lage said the saving of tons of fuel is necessary.

"The energy revolution, boosted by Cuban president Fidel Castro, is the idea to find in saving an important resource potencial for the nation," stressed the also Executive Secretary of the Council of Ministres.

He added that Cuba advances in this strategy in a context where the oil price for one barre lis around $100 dollars and developed countries consume it more irrationally each day.

Among those nations, he criticized the attitude of the United States which with only five percent of the world's population consumes 25 percent of global oil production.

Lage also referred to other projects started by the island as the substitution of light bulbs and household electric appliances for others of lower energy consumption, studies to exploit wind energy and the installation of electrogen groups.

He pointed that the country has today over six thousand of those groups and this year the amount will reach seven thousand to generate around 900 megawatts.

The important thing, he added, is the amount of entities with electrogen groups installed that can reduce power cuts when breakdowns occur.
