A luxury committee made up by institutions and personalities of the Cuban culture organizes the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban National Ballet (BNC in Spanish), which will take place in October, informed the local media.

The committee, lead by the minister for Culture, Abel Prieto, joins together personalities such as the head of the New Latin American Cinema Foundation, Alfredo Guevara, the Historian of Havana, Eusebio Leal, the president of the Casa de las Américas, Roberto Fernández Retamar, and Monsignor Carlos Manuel de Céspedes.

Members of the main cultural institutions from Cuba participate since October in the preparations of the activities and tributes, which will include exhibitions, cinematographic exhibitions and concerts, as well as the editions of books.

The ending point of the festivity will coincide with the XXI International Havana Ballet Festival, in October, where the great novelty will be the revival in its full version of the ballet The Sleeping Beauty, which has not been included in the repertoire of the BNC for several years.
