Cuba, with around a million hectares, is the Latin American country with most crops protected by biological products.
Vegetal Health Research Institute (INISAV) Director Emilio Fernandez said these means are produced by the country's four factories and almost 190 centers that make entomophagous and entomopathogenic products, according to the Cuban national information news agency (AIN).
He said insects, fungi, and bacteria are reproduced in INISAV laboratories that also create technology to obtain those elements, which go later to production centers to extend them.
Fernandez reported that those achievements are the result of the effort and training of the personnel that works at the INISAV, the farmers, and activists of the system in its 30 years of existence.
