An outstanding cultural event as the Book Fair is not organized overnight. Since one fair is over the preparations for the next begin. The beginning of the year surprises the organizing committee in full activity: on February 13th, at the Havana Fortress San Carlos de la Cabaña will be officially inaugurated the 17th International Book Fair Cuba 2008, the most important cultural event in the country.

The real party will begin earlier: since February 6th, in 44 bookstores of the capital, a total of 354 new books will be sold. The most important headquarters of the capital will open on February 11th: the Cuba pavilion, Rancho Boyeros Agricultural Fair and a large tent located at 13 de Marzo Park.

This action seeks to alleviate the long lines at the sales areas in La Cabaña. The cobbled stoned streets of the fortress are always packed of public and its not always easy to have access to some of the bookstores located in the arched facilities.
