Some keys, islands and islets form this archipelago. Jardines del Rey offers to the holidaymakers the opportunity to enjoy of a totally ecological tourism but because the tourist exploitation of the place responds to a sustainable program. None of the tourist facilities of the place has affected the incredible beauty and virginity of the zone. On the contrary, all the buildings created by man seem to be incorporated into nature to conserve it and protect it.

Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo are the islets of all the ones belonging to the archipelago in the province of Ciego de Avila, which have been exploited for the international and national tourisms. In order to gain access by road to Cayo Romano and Paredón Grande, which are located in the eastern part of the archipelago and geographically belonging to the province of Camaguey, a special permission issued by the border patrol is needed. Nevertheless, both of them are required reference points, by sea, regarding places for diving.

The hotel zone in the archipelago is in the northern coastal line of the cays. Because any tourist facility is located at the roadside of the central road, the visitor has to divert to the north in order to get to any point, taking a new road, which leads her/him to his/her destination. Such roads are surrounded at both sides by the native vegetation of the place. Almost the completely southern part of the archipelago is virgin.

It is important for the visitor to notice that Jardines del Rey is designed for a specific tourism. Unlike other beaches such as Varadero, for example, where you can go around the city walking, in the Keys this is not possible. There are long distances between places surrounded by plentiful vegetation. Places for visiting like markets, shops, parks or discotheque do not exist there. Everything is designed for being in the hotel and visitors, except for the beach, cannot enter any other tourist resort. For that reason, it is not necessary to come out of your hotel, unless you would like to participate in the different excursions offered.
