Its walls and sidewalks are daubed with overflowing paintbrushes of fantasy. It seems a legend panorama and there's plenty of truth in that, because the reality is that neighbors delighted by the fiction have also established its residence in the alley of Benicia Perdomo.

Now it's most picturesque road in the eastern territory of Camagüey, where almost 300 000 people live in the third more populated city of Cuba, on the foundations of one of the first human cores created by Spaniards in America. Painter Ileana Sánchez Hing extended, besides, the turmoil of her imageries on the alley that ends up in República Street, where thousands of people walk every day through that street of Camagüey with the largest amount of commercial units and services. Cats, fish, plants, stars, dancers, and musicians adorn the little street which narrowness leaves it practically solely for pedestrian traffic and where children have found a new refuge to enjoy with the fantasy and adults with evocations of childhood.

There the diversity of colors walk briskly, and the forms -filled with humor and Cuban identity -, supported in the naïve union, the pop art, and the academicism, in an art gallery and an entertainment roofed by the sky and which opened another degree for pedestrians in Camagüey. Located in the urban historical center, National Monument, the alley of Benicia Perdomo is receiver of one of Ileana Sánchez's testimonies in her native city: public murals. Some of her works also adorn, among other areas, two parks and a wall near the policlinic of pediatric specialties, the outcome of the donation made by the author of the value of the artistic creation as well as some of the materials.

Will the artist's murals continue to invade with its happiness other places of Camagüey? That is a goal imprisoned by the vehemence and perseverance, so that fable characters have also their room on everyone's view in a city living in the present with almost half a millennium of history.
