Cuban President Raul Castro arrived in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, to attend the first Summit of Latin America and the Caribbean (CALC) on Integration and Development, headquartered at Costa do Sauipe Resort.

Cuba and Venezuela are jointly working in the setting up the underwater cable and at ALBATEL, the telecommunications company with the ALBA Integration project.

They are discussing 311 cooperation projects for 2009 on industrial development, agriculture, education, health, sports and telecommunications.
