Frank Fernández
Cuban pianist Frank Fernandez denounced Wednesday, while on a Russian tour, that the denial a US visa prevented the presentation in Puerto Rico of a recording in which the eminent musician is accompanied by Puerto Rican singer Dany Rivera.

The musician said in a press conference in this capital, that this policy must be overcome.

Dany is a great singer and he wanted to be together in San Juan and New York, but the visa denial prevented that from happening.

The aggressive US policy with Cuba has caused in recent years, visa withholding from outstanding artists on the island like the deceased Ibrahim Ferrer, Omara Portuondo and jazz musician Chucho Valdes.

Fernandez has written more than 650 works, and collaborated with Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes, Joan Manuel Serrat, Adalberto Alvarez and other Spanish singers.

In a special presentation Fernandez will play Tchaikovsky on March 6, with the Moscow Symphonic Orchestra.
