Pablo Milanés, founder of the Cuban Nueva Trova musical movement will leave for Montevideo in April in order to give a concert in the Peñarol Palace, sources of the Ministry of Education and Culture announced.

Author of the hit songs Yolanda and Buenos días América will play for Uruguayans on April 28 reviewing famous songs and other less known all of them included in his most recent disc Como un campo de maíz.

On sale since 2005, Como un campo... credited a Latin Grammy last year in the category of Singer song-writers best album. Other songs it features are He sufrido algo, Llévame contigo, muerte; Réquiem para un amor and El sol ríe por mí.


Milanés will arrive in Montevideo from Argentina, where hes been contracted for a recital at the Club Unión Stadium of Santa Fe on the April 24th.

Composer, singer and guitarist this renowned musician was born in Bayamo, eastern Cuba, on February 24th, 1943 and pioneered the Cuban Nueva Trova musical movement together with his counterparts Silvio Rodríguez and Noel Nicola.
