The Anti-Doping Laboratory of Cuba, opened in 2001, consolidates the national program against drugs in sports, said scientific bulletin En Red. En Red said that during 2006, 2,000 tests were done in the installation, and Mario Granda, its director, assures no Cuban athlete was punished for using illegal substances, though there were cases to whom other tests were necessary. Sprint Hurdler Robles beats World Record Holder in German Athletics Meeting

Cuban sprint hurdler Dayron Robles continued unbeaten in the 2007 indoor season as he beat Chinese arch rival and world record holder Liu Xiang on Saturday at the Sparkassencup track and field meeting in Stuttgart, Germany. The young Cuban hurdler, running in only his third indoor competition blew away Liu and everyone else with an amazing 7.38-second Personal Best clocking, obliterating his own world-leading time of 7.49 from earlier in the week. Several titles for Cuban Judokas in Belgium

The Cuban national men and women's judo teams began their annual European tour with very good results in two tournaments held over the weekend in Belgium. At the women's 23rd Open Tournament of Arlon, Cuba won five titles. Cuba-India Exchange on Boxing and Cricket

A new chapter in relations between Cuba and India opened Thursday with the arrival to Havana of Indian Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Mani Shankar Aiyar. Staff at the Indian Embassy in Cuba told Granma that it is the first official visit of an Indian sports minister to the island and that among his activities Shankar will donate equipment for playing hockey and cricket, the most popular sports in India.
