Theater Festival of Camagüey
The group Mefisto, from Havana, won the Grand Award at the 2006 Theater Festival of Camagüey, held in the eastern Cuban province of the same name.

The group staged the play "Escandalo en la Trapa" (Scandal in La Trappe), which also won the prizes to the best performance and costume design.

Written by playwright José Ramón Brene, the play is about two scandalous secrets that came out in the 19th century in Baracoa, Cuba, and in the French convent of La Trappe.

Alina Molina and Andrés Hernández won the awards to the best actors for the way they played the characters of Amalia and Buenaventura.

The Theater Festival of Camagüey also granted prizes to the best productions, which went to the groups Buendía, Teatro de la Luna and Argos, for adult's plays, and to Teatro Tuyo and Los Cuenteros, for plays for children and youths.
