The 13th Ibero American Film Festival is starting in the Cuban central province of Ciego de Avila on June 21. It will be dedicated this year to the 110th anniversary of the island's cinematography.
The event includes the screening of national films and theoretical sessions at the provincial headquarters of the Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC.)
The festival, which will extend to several municipalities of Ciego de Avila, seeks to make the Cuban audience more familiar with the Ibero American cinema, as well as an exchange by the viewers with actors, filmmakers and critics.
Some of the most recent Cuban films to be screened at the Festival are "Madrigal" by Fernando Perez, and "La noche de los inocentes" by Arturo Soto.
