It is a true delight for the public of this territory of Cuba where the Spanish cinema has its fans. The contest will screen films of classic Spanish folm makers such as Pedro Almodovar, Alejandro Amenabar, Luis Buñuel, Vigas Lunas and Carlos Saura, among others.

The exhibition for the first time in Las Tunas of the Cuban films ¨La edad de la peseta¨ by Pavel Giroud, and ¨Madrigal¨ by Fernando Perez, in the opening and the closing, respectively will be some of the proposals in the event.

The 14th edition of the contest will have in competition around 15 film club members from seven Cuban provinces, included its organizer. They will present and guide the debates of the Spanish films they choose, to be honored with the great prize of the competition.

Prizes will also be granted to the investigators and specialists in film criticism while the children will compete in drawing and composition, based on the cartoon Elpidio Valdes.

The event of Las Tunas, unique of its type in Cuba, focus on the debate of films as a way to achieve an active spectator of critical thinking. Very popular movies of the Spanish cinema will be seen during the event with famous singers such as Rocio Durcal, Sara Montiel and La Massiel, as well as the latest productions by Almodovar and by Amenabar, among others.
