Cuba would pursue in providing assistance to Ethiopia in the efforts being made to improve the sports and youth sector, Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Investment and International Cooperation said.

While conferring with Ethiopian State Minister of Youth and Sports, Abdissa Yadeta Monday, Ramon Ripoll said Cuba would provide the necessary assistance to the efforts geared towards producing skilled manpower needed to improve the sports sector in Ethiopia.

According to the Deputy Minister, Ethiopia could draw lessons from Cuba in the youth and sports sector.

State Minister of Sports and Youth on his part said Ethiopia and Cuba enjoy a longstanding relation and thanked Cuba for the assistance it extended to Ethiopia in the sports sector.

The Ethiopian government is exerting efforts in a bid to satisfy the demands of the youth, the State Minister said and added that drawing lessons from Cuba would be of paramount importance in fulfilling these objectives.

The two officials also discussed ways through which Ethiopia and Cuba could jointly work in the youth and sports sector.

Ethiopian Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Cuba, Dr. Berhanu Dibaba and Ambassador of Cuba to Ethiopia, Ricardo Garcia Diaz attended the discussion.
