Stop smoking
The eastern Cuban province of Ciego de Avila has reported good results in fighting smoking.

According to statistics, the province reported a smoking rate of 19.2 percent, the lowest in Cuba.

Studies carried out by experts from the Provincial Center for Promotion and Education for Health (CPPES) showed that this rate is lower than the national average, which is 32 percent.

The statistics also show that men smoke more than women, except in the 40-50 group age, and people start smoking between 15 and 20 years of age.

According to the research, the most common smoking-related diseases are high blood tension, a sedentary lifestyle, obesity and cardiovascular ailments.
