Over 35 artists and intellectuals that are part of the Cultural Brigade in Campaign of the Santiago de Cuba province will pay tribute to the Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, at his 154 birth date.

The tribute to the Hero starts this Tuesday with the registration of the group at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery and with the deposit of flowers in front of the tomb, where lies the man who was born the 28th of January 1853 in Paula street, in Havana.

The brigade, made of dancers, clowns, magicians, theatre actors, poets, plastic artist will visit the places where Marti and General Maximo Gomez stayed overnight and will remember the funeral procession of the author of -La Edad de Oro-.

The route will start at the Songo la Maya municipality, where are located the Aguacate, La Leonor and La Victoria camps, the first where the Hero was in his visit to Santiago de Cuba, as well as in San Luis in La Mejorana, Ondones de Majaguabo and Jagua de Buquey.

They will also arrive at the Mella and Cotramaestre municipality. At the Contramaestre municipality they will visit the Remanganagua cemetery, the first place where Marti was buried. There will take place a political and cultural ceremony to recall the Cuban patriot.

The route will include Jiguani in Granma province, where it was the Travesia Uno barracks and then they will move to Travesia Dos in the San German town in Holguin province to finally reach Dos Rios, the place where the National Hero was killed the 19th of May 1895.

The 26th, the members of the brigade will enter Santiago de Cuba and will pay tribute to this man of great ideas. This cultural movement was born at the 500 anniversary of the birth of Jose Marti and was consolidated as a communitarian cultural project to know more about the life and work of the most universal of all the Cubans.
