Cuba upgrades currency

Cuba s Central Bank issued a new series of convertible currency bills with characteristics that give them more security in commercial operations, local Granma daily published on Monday.
In a note, the bank informs that the watermark of the bills has now an indicative number of their denomination.
The backs were also specifically designed for each value of this currency (1,3,5,10,20,50 and 100), to replace the existing ones.
The new series keeps the security filament, now with the text Patria o Muerte, Venceremos, while the main elements of the front are presented with embossed designs.
This new impression will be in circulation along with the current convertible bills, which will be gradually withdrawn.
