Cuba to harvest more sugarcane
Cuban Sugar Minister Ulises Rosales Del Toro stated the country will have much more cane to produce sugar in the next harvest, during an activity for the National Day of the Sugar Industry Worker on Friday,.
Rosales Del Toro, also a member of the Cuban Communist Party Political Board, said this reflects the potential of the Cuban sugar industry workers to fulfill the commitments with President Fidel Castro regarding this mission.
The minister announced the planting program is fulfilled in Guantanamo and the imminent fulfillment of the total sugarcane planting goal of 296,526 acres, with only the seed banks pending for December planting and some other areas of some producers.
The national activity was held at La Esperanza Sugarcane Cooperative in Guantanamo s Argeo Martinez Central Sugar Mill.
