Cuba will play for third place against Guadalupe Tuesday at the Caribbean Cup tournament in Trinidad and Tobago while the home squad, which beat Cuba 3-1 on Sunday, plays Haiti in the finals.

While Cuba was able to classify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup to be played in the United States in June, the teams showing at the Caribbean Cup left a lot to be desired.

New strategies and better physical conditioning will be needed to improve the defense and offense to make a decent showing at the Gold Cup.

Playing before 10,000 soccer fans, Cuba gave the home squad their first goal at minute 41 on an own goal by a Cuban defender.

The second goal for Trinidad and Tobago came at minute 57 by Gary Glasgow who headed a bullet into the top corner of Cuban goalkeeper Hernandezs net. The third goal came at the 73rd minute by Densill Theobald. And Leonel Duarte recorded Cubas lone score at minute 76.

With a ticket to the Gold Cup already guaranteed, it was thought that the Cuban coach might use more of his bench in the last two matches to get them accustomed to the pressure. Whats obvious is that the players need a rest when they return home.
