The opening ceremony at the Casa de las Americas cultural institution includes the screening of an audiovisual presentation on Lamming's participation in several events and meetings held at the host

Students from Haiti, Belize and the Bahamas who are receiving higher education in Cuba will perform an artistic show at the closing ceremony.
