The aeolic park under construction in north east of Gibara, Holguin, is making good progress with the first of six platforms for 5.1 mW wind turbines, nearing completion.
The Construction Ministry (MICONS), Electricity Industry (INEL) and Vertice company are now reinforcing the first foundation with steel, says Granma daily.
This first park will help gather experience to assimilate the right technology to exploit this environment-friendly renewable energy source.
Computer technology will read wind speed and direction to help set the turbines in the right angle to make the best use of this natural energy at Gibara Aeolic Park.
