Cuba and Chile will resume direct flights between Havana and Santiago
Cuban airline "Cubana de Aviación" will resume direct flights between Havana and Santiago de Chile next January as it was announced during a meeting with tour-operators of that South American country that took place in the Chilean capital.

Executives from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, hotel chains and travel agencies in Cuba promoted the island as an important tourist destination in the Caribbean during the meeting that also included a workshop, seminars and the presentation of nine Cuban tourist products.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, the resumption of direct flights between the capitals of both countries attracted particular interest in this event, in which a video was screened showing the IL-96 plane that will cover the route, with capacity for 262 passengers and a cruising speed of 900 km/h.

Participants in the meeting included tour-operators, airlines, travel agencies, specialized media and members of the Chile-Cuba Entrepreneurial Committee of Santiago, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso.

Blau Hotels, Cubatur, Gran Caribe, Gaviota, Cubanacán and Sol Meliá were some of the hotel chains participating in the event.
