China and Cuba expressed Thursday their willingness to strengthen sports collaboration for the forthcoming Olympic Games to be run in this capital next year.

The meeting was attended by China s State Sports General Administration Minister Liu Peng, Cuba s INDER vice president Roberto Leon Richards, visiting this country, the island s ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira, and other sports officials and diplomatic mission accredited here.

The Chinese minister will support Cuba s sports projects and willingness to successfully contribute with the participation of Cuban athletes in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The meeting also analyzed the possibility to carry out acclimatization training in this country, as part of athletes preparation for the world sports event, as well as exchange coaches.
