Caribbean travelling sample arrives in Havana
Travelling Sample on Cinema of the Caribbean will be exhibited in Havana from June 11-16, at the "Charles Chaplin" Hall of the Cinematheque of Cuba, as part of the Culture and Development Congress, the Digital Bulletin of the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) announced.

The project, directed by Cuban filmmaker Rigoberto Lopez, has the collaboration of the UNESCO, TELESUR, CARICOM and other regional organizations and is composed of 30 titles from 15 countries of the region.

According to the Bulletin, the films have been subtitled in Spanish, English and French.

In the interests of achieving greater spreading, the Sample will open soon its website that is mainly dedicated to the cinema made by filmmakers of the Caribbean. "It will be a reference space to follow the development of cinema and audiovisual presentation in the region", Rigoberto Lopez has affirmed.

"It is clear that a space of this sort cannot be divorced from the dynamic of the ideas and the development of the thinking generated in the Caribbean from culture", the filmmaker added.

The Travelling Sample on Cinema of the Caribbean has already been exhibited in several Caribbean countries, with the approval from the public, artists and authorities, who see in it a possibility of mutual knowledge and cultural integration of our countries of the Caribbean Basin.
