Book on Daniel Santos to be launched
A book called "Daniel Santos in His Havana", a book on the days this renowned singer known as "El Inquieto Anacobero" will be launched in Puerto Rico on May 6 by its author, Cuban music historian Helio Orovio.
In a conversation Saturday with Prensa Latina, Orovio assured his book will be presented in a meeting with other music experts and historians.
Daniel Santos was born in Santurce in 1916, and died in Ocala in 1992. He was part of the political, social and cultural life of Cuba because he lived here since 1946, being a member of Cuba's musical ensembles Sonora Matancera and Jovenes del Cayo.
Santos was, according to the Dictionary of Cuban Music Santos was one of the most popular artists, just like Benny More.
