The city of Bayamo, in the eastern Cuban province of Granma, is promoting its tourist attractions to become a major destination.

In order to achieve that goal, the city is undertaking a series of initiatives, including the opening of fast-food establishments, a wax museum and art schools, among other options.

The hotel chain ISLAZUL has benefited from an increase in tourist arrivals and has reported a rise in revenues.

Among the company's seven establishments, the most visited ones are the Royalton Hotel, in downtown Bayamo, the Sierra Maestra Hotel and the villas Balcón de la Sierra and Santo Domingo.

In addition, ISLAZUL is remodeling its hotels, offering 377 rooms equipped with cable television, hot water, minibar, telephone and other amenities demanded by tourists.
