Cuban authorities receive visiting US Trade Representative
Bruno Rodriguez and Rodrigo Malmierca, ministers of Foreign Affairs and of Foreign Trade and Investment, respectively, met on Friday in Havana with US Trade Representative Michael Froman.
Froman was on a two-day official visit to the island, a visit that was part of the new stage of relations between the two countries after the reestablishment of diplomatic relations.
The press release by the Foreign Ministry pointed out that, in the various meetings held on the island, topics of interest for the two parties related to the sphere of trade were tackled.
In addition, Froman met with the deputy ministers of the ministries of Communications, Agriculture and Science, Technology and the Environment.
Among activities in Cuba, the US Trade Representative and his delegation visited the Special Development Zone of Mariel, an agricultural cooperative, and the historic area of Old Havana.
