This weekend will begin the cruise season on the island, during which it is expected to receive about 600,000 travelers.
According to Jose Luis Perello, professor of the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Havana, "Among the 14 ships will visit Havana Bay this season, with a total of 90 scales, they could disembark 600,000 cruise passengers in the Cuban capital," said the Economist.
Perello also said that the major cruise companies based in US territory have expressed to authorities on the island their interest in including Cuban ports.
