US embassy in Cuba launches contest on Facebook to participate in the anniversary of the thaw
The US Embassy in Cuba will grant 10 invitations to their Facebook fans for the first anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
"On December 17 we will celebrate the first anniversary of the announcement of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States and we want to do it with young artists, journalists, entrepreneurs and ... our Facebook fans!", the US Embassy in Cuba posted on its Facebook profile.
"Since we have a lot of Cuban friends on social networks and we can only include 10 people, we are launching a mini-competition today," cites the post.
To participate, the contestant must post on the official wall of that institution a photo or a short story that tells the exact moment he/she heard the news of the historic thaw.
The publication details: "What were you doing / where you were / how did you feel on December 17, 2014 when Castro and Obama made the historic announcement?"
The contest closes on Wednesday, December 15th.
