The foreign ministers of Central American countries are meeting Tuesday in El Salvador to address the situation of over 5 thousand Cubans stranded in Costa Rica in their attempt to emigrate to the United States.
The meeting which will reportedly not call the media will include the foreign ministers of El Salvador, which temporarily chairs the Central American Integration System; Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Belize, Panama and the Dominican Republic; while Cuba, Colombia, Ecuador and Mexico have been invited to the forum.
El Salvador´s foreign minister Hugo Martinez said that the meeting will try to find not only a short-term solution to the Cubans,  but also to solve the situation in the mid and long run.
The ministers will also consider the issue of illegal migration in general, which is a problem affecting all Central American countries.
