Cubans living on the island with Spanish nationality may travel to the United States in direct flights to visit relatives, shopping or tourism.
Cuban-Spanish can fly direct from Cuba to the airports of Miami, Orlando and Fort Myers using charter flights that previously could only use those traveling with US visa, reported Cuba Miami portal.
The trip, which until recently had to be done by a third country, may be effected with the ESTA visa required of all Europeans and get online.
"The Electronic System for Travel Authorization for US or ESTA was created to strengthen security measures and to ensure the safety of visitors to the United States," says the digital site to request visa.
