With two-hour concert at the Coliseum Roberto Clemente in San Juan, the iconic and unique Cuban group Buena Vista Social Club put the closure in Puerto Rico to the US tour.
San Juan enjoyed the best of Cuban music from the hand of one of its best ambassadors on Saturday night with about 6200 spectators, including the capital's mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz Soto.
The great Omara Portuondo, melodious and musical, delighted the audience with some of her best performances, "Bésame Mucho," "Veinte años," "Lágrimas negras", "No me llores," "Quizás, quizás, quizás" and her unique version, paper in hand, of En mi viejo San Juan by Noel Estrada.
The songs "Chan Chan", "El Cuarto de Tula", "Dos gardenias" by Omara Portuondo and Carlos Calunga, and "Candela” put the finishing touch, chanted by a devoted audience who refused to leave the Coliseum.
