US and Cuba discuss creation of joint marine reserve
US and Cuba discuss the creation of a joint marine protected area, the US Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday. He also announced a new trip to the island in January 2016.
"We also work on finalizing a deal for a new protected maritime area with Cuba, to protect connected places of our two countries," Kerry said during a visit to Viña del Mar, Chile
"We can collaborate better on scientific, education and management studies," said the diplomat, who did not give details on the scope of the agreement.
