Doctor Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, President of the African Union Commission, who is on an official visit to Cuba, will tour on Thursday the capital’s Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK).
At this center of the Ministry of Public Health, the visitor will meet with physicians who fought the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry, where they carried out the honorable mission even at the risk of their own lives.
Standing out among results achieved by the over 250 physicians and nurses, members of the Henry Reeve International Contingent, are the more than 400 lives saved and an overall death rate of 24.4 percent.
This shows the training received from IPK experts, in addition to their commitment and dedication to work, aspects that have been recognized by the governments of these countries, the World Health Organization and other international bodies.
