The Latin Academy of Recording Arts announced the name of the artists who will receive their honorary awards this year in the framework of the 16th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards to be held in November in Las Vegas.
The singers Ana Belen and Victor Manuel (Spain), Angela Carrasco
(Dominican Republic), Djavan (Brazil) and Pablo Milanes (Cuba) and the Argentine saxophonist Gato Barbieri and the Puerto Rican band El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico will be recognized with the award for musical excellence for their artistic contributions.
"Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their work have created a lasting legacy. Honoring them, we honor our music. Surely they will continue influencing in both our culture and industry of Latin music," said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President & executive director of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts.
