Cuban Foreign Trade and Investment Minister  Rodrigo Malmierca, urged Spanish businessmen to participate in 246 projects that the Government launched in 11 sectors of all provinces, with a value of $ 8,710 million (7,950 million euros).
"We see tourism as an engine that pulls other sectors," Malmierca said during a conference with Spanish businessmen organized by the CEOE, where he explained that this sector will be the lever that will be needed to invest in infrastructure, transport and telecommunications.
Malmierca addressed more than 200 Spanish businessmen to remind Cubans are "grateful people" and think to reward "friends" that have helped them in the past, "especially SMEs who have been 50 years with us and is very difficult to replace them.”
The CEO of the Spanish Institute of Foreign Trade, Francisco Garzon, said that "this is an exciting stage" and that Spanish companies have both the necessary knowledge and the desire to work in Cuba.
