The Spanish shipping company Balearia reported on Friday that already has two US government licenses to operate a ferry service between Cuba and the United States, and now is just waiting for approval from the Cuban authorities.
"With the two licenses (US), we are closer than ever to be the first ones to join Cuba to the United States by sea," said Adolfo Utor, Balearia president, in a statement.
Balearia obtained in late June by the Bureau of Industry and Security of the Department of Commerce, the first US license, which allows the entry and exit of boats to and from Cuba, but not transporting passengers, indicates the Press note.
Now it has been confirmed that Balearia already has in its possession a license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the Treasury Department, which regulates the transportation of passengers.
