Francis Ford Coppola is in Cuba
The renowned director, producer and screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola (Detroit, Michigan, 1939), arrived in Cuba yesterday afternoon, to complete an invitation from the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV by its Spanish acronym).
His son Francois Roman, also a filmmaker, and his grandchildren Gia, Pascale Electra and Marcello Archimedes, accompanying him on this visit, in which the director of the legendary film The Godfather (1972), has as main objective to exchange with students of this prestigious educational and artistic institution.
Coppola will give lectures to students of the EICTV; he will also make the viewing of some film productions and will give his considerations. Coppola has declared that what interests him most is to talk to young filmmakers about their artistic concerns, current trends and the future of cinema.
