Vietnamese delegation visits Havana
A delegation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Nguyen Thi Than Hoa, president of the Union of Women of this country, arrived in Havana to visit different places of social and economic interest.
The Asian representation is made up by Tran Thi Lan, head of the Department of Organization, Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh, Head of Foreign Relations, and the presidents in the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh .
The Vietnamese group toured the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, the textile factory Mediatex and the project of Old Havana called Quitrín Artisan Development and Industrial Center.
The latter center was founded by Vilma Espin, former president of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC by its Spanish acronym) and Nguyen had special interest in meeting with Arelys Santana, FMC secretary, who explained her the importance of places like that to teach housewives and retirees.
