The first regular direct flights from Orlando, Florida, to Havana, Cuba are scheduled for today.
The charter flights will depart on Wednesdays and Sundays from Orlando International Airport. The Boeing 737 aircraft that will cover the 90-minute course has a capacity of 120 passengers.
The route became possible after President Barack Obama announced in January an easing of travel restrictions to Cuba for Americans.
The planes are chartered by Island Travel and Tours, a company based in Tampa.
The flights will cost about $ 429, plus $ 100 extra for a Cuban visa.
