After a high season with remarkable dividends and reporting a six percent growth in the first quarter of the current year, managers and workers in the tourism sector in the province, are prepared to face the summer period.
Ibis Fernandez, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Matanzas, recalled that in 2014 Varadero stressed his prestige as a destination and established brands in the arrival of tourists, with an average that exceeded 34 000 tourists- days. She added that 60% of the hotel industry was at the top of their capacities.
With 43.9% of total visitors, Canada retained its top place as a source market, followed by Germany and the domestic market in the third step.
Between August this year and May 2016, should be delivered 1200 rooms of Las Conchas hotel, which amount to more than 21 500 the hotel capacity of the resort, plus 500 in the non-state sector.
