"I know a visit to Cuba would give him great pleasure and especially to Havana", said Josh Earnest, the White House spokesman, in his daily press briefing in answer to the question of a Cuban journalist about whether Obama would like to visit Cuba before leaving power in the United States.
The White House has become increasingly opened to the possibility of Obama's visit to Cuba, since just last week Earnest was more cautious when saying that the president does not intend to travel to Cuba "in the short term", but there is a chance to do it before January 2017 .
"I'm a fairly young man, so I imagine that at some point in my life I will have the opportunity to visit Cuba", said the president in the press room of the White House.
